Spanish Jasmine

The Spanish Jasmine is a large twining climber which belongs to the plant family Oleaceae. The most striking feature of the plant is the strong but pleasant odour that the flowers emit. The compound leaves are 5-12 cm. long and are opposite, imparipinnate or with an odd number of leaflets. These 7-11 leaflets are rhomboid-ovate or lanceolate  with the terminal leaflet being the largest. The white flowers are 3-3.8 cm. across with a long tubular corolla and found in axillary and terminal cymes. From flavouring teas and deserts to eliminating inflammations and intestinal worms, jasmine has proved its unique versatility.
