Indian Traveller's Joy

The Indian Traveller's Joy is an extensive climber but is often found trailing amongst grass. The plant belongs to the family Ranunculacae. The  leaves, 2.5-5 cm. long, are simple, entire and sometimes lobed. The petioles are slender and twine around neighbouring objects. The flowers are white and are over 3.8 cm. across. The fruits are achenes that are ovoid, compressed, and silky with long feathery tails.






MEDICINAL USE:
*Good laxative.
*Stimulate the secretion of bile.
*Leprosy.
*Blood diseases.
*Fever.
*Heart problems.
*Parasitic worms.
*Boils and bad itching.

HOW TO USE:
*Wash the needed portion of the plant thoroughly and make a decoction with it to take care of               constipation, the secretion of bile, leprosy, blood diseases, fever, heart problems, and parasitic
  worms.
*The same decoction may be applied externally to take care of boils and bad itching.

PARTS USED:
*The whole plant.

DOSE:

As recommended above.

Normal Dosage For:

Adults: 4 or 5 cups a day.
Aged 6 to 9 years: 2 cups a day
Aged 2 to 5 years: 1 cup a day
1 to 2 years: 1/2 cup a day
Below 1 year: 1/4 or less cup a day

A Useful Table for Quick Measurements:
1 tbsp = 5 grams (green herb)
1 dessertspoon = 2 grams (dry herb)
1 teaspoon = 25 drops
1 cup = 16 tbsp


1 litre = 7 or 8 cups
