Strawberry

The popular Strawberry plant belongs to the plant family Rosaceae. It is a low, perennial herb with runners. The leaves are compound in three leaflets, bright green, and white toothed margin. The flowers are white, with five petals, developing into a sweet red false or aggregate fruit which is commonly called the strawberry. The plant is vegetatively propogated by runners.

MEDICINAL USE:
*Binds tissues and promotes the free flow of urine.
*Chronic diarhoea.
*Abnormal build up of minerals in the body, kidney diseases, intestinal worms, pulmonary
  inflammation of the mucous membranes or catarrh, gout, arthritis, jaundice, liver and stomach
  problems.
*Bladder stones.
*Indigestion.
*Anaemia.

HOW TO USE:
*The tea of the leaves has the property of binding tissues and promoting the free flow of urine.
*The tea is also used for chronic diarrhoea. The root also has the same medicinal property.
*The fruit is valuable in cases of calculus or the abnormal build up of minerals in the body, kidney
  diseases, intestinal worms, pulmonary catarrh, gout, arthritis, jaundice, liver and stomach problems.
*In the treatment of bladder stones, the juice of the fresh strawberry is taken for breakfast. It relieves
  pains and prevents development of new stones.
*The fruit is also recommended for indigestion or dyspepsia.
*It has good antianaemic properties.

PARTS USED:
*The whole plant.

DOSE:
As recommended above.

Normal Dosage For:

Adults: 4 or 5 cups a day.
Aged 6 to 9 years: 2 cups a day
Aged 2 to 5 years: 1 cup a day
1 to 2 years: 1/2 cup a day
Below 1 year: 1/4 or less cup a day

A Useful Table for Quick Measurements:
1 tbsp = 5 grams (green herb)
1 dessertspoon = 2 grams (dry herb)
1 teaspoon = 25 drops
1 cup = 16 tbsp


1 litre = 7 or 8 cups
