The Indian Cork Tree grows to a height of 15-25 metres with a straight trunk, the bark of which is grey, rough and corky. The deep green bipinnate compound leaves form a pyramidal crown. The tree is classified into the plant family Bignoniaceae. The ovate-lanceolate leaflets are 2.5 to 5 cm. long. The cluster of white flowers with long slender corolla tubes have a mild fragrance. The fruits are slender, linear capsules, which are about 30 cm. long. The seeds are compressed, flat and winged.

HOW TO USE:
*A decoction of the root is given to control food poisoning.
*The same decoction of the root is also used to reduce fever.

*The dried flowers are smoked as a treatment for asthma.

Adults: 4 or 5 cups a day.
Aged 6 to 9 years: 2 cups a day
Aged 2 to 5 years: 1 cup a day

Below 1 year: 1/4 or less cup a day
